1) Blue Bin - Only paper and cardboard. They get collected once a month.
2) Green Bin - Only plastic, milk cartons, yogurt containers etc. Last night a friend told us that I should not throw aluminum foil and tin cans into this bin. Sigh... haven't figured out what to do with them. The green bin gets emptied once a month.
3) Brown Bin - Only organic waste. Anything containing chemicals should not be put into this bin. It gets collected twice a month.
4) Black Bin - For this bin, we have to pay the local council lots of money and they limit the size of the bin according to the household. This is for dirty stuff like baby diapers, tissues, things that has come in contact with chemicals (wipes, old medication) etc etc etc. This gets taken only once a month. Imagine baby diapers waiting for a month in the bin. Phew...
Glass bottles need to be sorted according to their colours. Brown, green and white (clear). These gray bins are for bottles. Hmmm... still haven't found out what to do with my tin cans and aluminum foils. I keep my bottles for my new hobby. Watch this space for posting on my new found passion.
Old clothes must be washed and dried and folded (if possible ironed) and placed into these tall white bins. The shorter white bin is for shoes.
Oh.. oh ... another white bin. Ok, it says donation of clothes. I guess these are not old clothes. New clothes that you want to donate?! Anyway, that is just my guess.
I think for this reason I will not move to Germany ... will never be able to remember all this ... and for what ... RUBBISH!!! Alamak, life cant be this complicating.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of an expert at garbage economy now. I think I can start a consultants firm.
